Democratic Party Experience

Bio

I am motivated to create a strong voice for the people in my community. I specialize in communicating with a broad range of people in order to connect and mobilize the efforts of hard-working organizations and leaders. I work hard to be a constant student of my environment and look forward to learning and growing throughout my life’s work as a community organizer. I hold an associate degree in business as well as many years of experience with sales, customer service, and management of people and information.

My time in school showed me that everyone deserves a quality education not just those lucky enough to afford it. My 20 years working in the restaurant industry taught me that we need to prioritize workers rights, paid sick leave, healthcare, and address the predatory behaviors that surround the servers and bartenders who must rely on tips for a living.

Democratic Party of New Mexico State Convention 2020

with Representative Deb Haaland.

Like so many others, the presidency of #45 set me on a path to action. I decided it was time to get work to learn how to become a leader in my local Democratic party and to find local activist groups with shared interests and goals.

Campaign Experience

Activism

Over the past 2 years I have gained valuable experience working on two New Mexico Senate campaigns as both a Volunteer Coordinator and a Field Organizer where I:

  • Organized the efforts of over 100 volunteers

  • Set up and ran training workshops

  • Developed training videos and materials

  • Coordinated letter writing campaigns

  • Planned volunteer kickoffs and campaign events

  • Analyzed voter outreach data

  • Organized literature drops

  • Tracked the progress of the campaign reach

I hope to bring these experiences to the party by expanding on the foundation that is in place to reach rural areas of our district and create workshops and trainings on the varies roles Democratic voters can fill and empower voters to become the leaders in their communities.
